BRAHMS REQUIEM

Brahms-HomePage 600x345.jpg

The biggest production of our season, with full-blown orchestra and soloists: the magnificent German Requiem by Johannes Brahms! Brahms' longest and most famous choral work is not a Requiem Mass in the traditional sense: the seven movements of this piece are focused on the living, with music set around different biblical verses that lead from suffering and mourning to comfort and consolation. We also presented Blow Ye the Trumpet by Kirke Mechem for chorus and orchestra.

Originally performed Saturday, March 23, 2019, and Sunday, March 24, 2019.
