Duruflé + Lauridsen + Gjeilo
Renowned as one of the most beautiful great choral works is Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem. Honoring and modeled on Fauré’s Requiem, it brings the peaceful balance of Gregorian chant into delicate modern harmonies. It is a work that touches listeners and singers deeply. The Requiem is performed with strings, harp and organ. The concert finished with a few shorter pieces about light including Ola Gjeilo’s "Luminous Night of the Soul", Morten Lauridsen’s "Sure on this Shining Night" and an arrangement of "This Little Light of Mine".
